at – użycie
1. At wstawiamy przed określeniami czasu:
at five o’clock
at 11:45
at dinner time
at noon (w południe)
2. At używamy z poniższymi wyrażeniami
at night – w nocy
at the weekend – w weekend
at Christmas – w święta
at the moment – w tym momencie
at the same time – w tym samym czasie
3. Gdy mówimy „o końcu” jakiegoś czasu:
at the end of the week
at the end of the story
at the end of the lesson
at the end of summer
at the end of the game
4. Gdy mówimy o lokalizacji czegoś. At oznacza wtedy „przy”:
at the bus stop – na przystanku autobusowym („at” oznacza bardziej „przy”. Nie można dać „in” ponieważ wyszłoby „w przystanku” )
at the traffic lights – na światłach (bo nie może być 'in” – nie da się być „w światłach”)
at the roundabout – na rondzie (nie „in” ponieważ nie można być „w rondzie”)
at the door – przy drzwiach
